SFOA Board Meeting Minutes 4-9-2007 6:00PM
Present: Kenny Lamb, John Krentzman, Dick Redmond, Ed Sullivan, Steve Patterson, Joe Magadino
Absent: Guy Spiros, Reggie Smith
Meeting held at 6:00PM at Ed Sullivans office
Open items from previous Board meetings were addressed with the following resolutions:
1. Palmetto H S did not respond to multiple voice mail messages offering SFOA officiating services which indicate no interest in SFOA. No further attempts to recruit this school will be attempted this year.
2. FHSAA will not sanction interschool scrimmages proposed during spring practice for training purposes. This plan is dropped.
3. 2006 contract copy was obtained and it was a board decision that only the monetary part be changed . Contracts for 2007 season will be mailed to all schools during week of 4-9 to 4-13.
4. Invoices for booking fees have been sent to PYFC and SYFC.
5. Contracts will be sent to new schools Bayshore H. S., Out-of-Door Academy, and Bradenton Prep.
Bill Simpson was unanimously chosen to be the referee of a 13th crew if another crew is needed. It appears that this will be needed and will be confirmed when the schedules are available.
Kenny Lamb will inquire into getting SFOA membership added to the state data base of background checked officials. This will resolve any problem of working any out-of-county schools.
The SFOA Board voted to nominate Lakewood Ranch H. S. for the FHSAA Sportsmanship Award.
