SFOA 9/8/08 Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM by Ed Bates.
Dick Redmond presented the Board 8/18/08 meeting minutes to Board. The minutes
were accepted.
Ed Sullivan stated that the September bank statement had not been received so
there was no treasurers report.
Contracts are still missing from Mitchell and Lakewood Ranch. Both contracts are
waiting for approval at the county level.
Dick Redmond reported that the proposed Playoff Procedure was updated per the
Boards suggestion and was placed on the SFOA website. The procedure is ready for
a vote by the SFOA membership at the September 8 meeting.
The problem of late game declines was discussed. A motion to remove the
accept/decline option from Arbiter was defeated. It was decided that bookings
for the upcoming week must be published on Arbiter by Sunday at 6:00 PM and all
officials must either accept or decline that weeks games by Tuesday at 8:00 PM.
The penalty for not accepting or declining will be 1 game fee. This is to become
effective on 9/14/08. An email is to be sent to the membership regarding this
booking change.
The difference in the travel fee between Pinellas County schools and the private
and out of county schools was discussed. Ed Sullivan suggested that $12 travel
be paid for all games. The Board voted unanimously to approve this suggestion.
The Grievance, Training, Evaluation, and Assignment Committees had nothing to
report.
The committee chairman for the By-laws evaluation reported that bylaw update
reccommendations are complete and are ready for membership vote.
The Board meeting was adjourned at 7:00 PM
