SFOA BOARD MEETING

April 10, 2006

 

Present:           Ken Lamb, Sharon Dunaway-Alt, Ed Sullivan, Wally Devries, Clancy Dixon, and Reggie Smith

 

Absent:            John Krentzman and Ed Bates

 

 

Called to order at 6:00 by Ken Lamb.

 

The meeting started with a “booking” software presentation by Clark with “The Arbiter” booking software, the cost would be about $4.00 and $5.00 per official per year. The SFOA Board thanked Clark and had told him that a board member would get back to him on the decision. 

 

A motion to wave the reading and approve the minutes from the prior board meetings from April 10, 2006 was placed by SD, and CD second. (Unanimously approved).

 

ES gave the treasurer’s report, he stated that the amount was about that same as of the last meeting.

 

Committee reports were as follows: Evaluation no report at this time.  Assignment committee: no report at this time. Recommendations committee: no report at this time. Grievance committee: no report at this time. Education/Training: new training to start at 7PM, at Clearwater High School.  Whitehat committee: WD reported that the members had not responded to the questions that had been submitted.  The board decided that if the committee did not respond by the next meeting, the board would cancel the committee and handle those issues among the board.

 

Unfinished business:

 

WD reported that we have received 5 school contracts, but had not sent out the Pinellas County contract because of the Flag Football issues.

 

The status on the Official’s Alliance was nothing new at this time. 

 

The SFOA pamphlet was tabled to the next meeting.

 

SD and ES attended the FHSAA’s meeting in Gainesville for the Field Clinic.  They reported on several ideas that were pasted on by the state.

 

ES was asked to pay the mileage for playoff officials that had drove to their contest, ES said he would send checks when he received a documented request for payment.  

 

New business:

 

A motion was made and seconded that we accept the software from “The Arbiter” on a one-year trial, and that the President be the primary administrator, and the booking commissioner, vice president, secretary, and the Treasurer be secondary administrators. WD to contact the representative from “The Arbiter”(WD motioned and 2nd by SD, after discussion, the vote passed unanimously).

 

A motion was made and seconded that we increase the travel fee for Pinellas County contract to $9.00 per game (SA motioned and 2nd by RS, after discussion, the vote passed unanimously).

 

A motion was made and seconded that T. Skinner be refunded $34.00 for the finger printing (KL motioned and 2nd by RS, the vote passed unanimously

 

 

Meeting adjourned 8:30 PM. Next meeting 4/18/06 at 6:00 PM, Ed Sullivan’s office.
